Burlesque' is our new superstar-gorgeous, juicy and prolific. Lovingly bred by Burpee, these large, round vibrant, pure-red 280-350 g fruits entice with heirloom aromatics and tangy tomato sweetness. Ripening from early August, the large fruits are produced in clusters of three to four per truss. ' Burlesque' tomatoes are easy to pick and show no cracking. Excellent blight resistance makes this useful beefsteak for outdoor growing in central and southern Europe.

  • Sow in early spring 1/16 inch deep.  Germination takes around 6-14 days at 65-75F.
  • Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into 3 inch pots.  Grow on under cooler conditions and when about 8 inches tall,  position in the greenhouse  and plant out 24-36 inches apart.
  • Provide support and tie in regularly.  Remove side shoots and restrict the plant to one main stem.  In late summer remove the growing tip to hasten ripening
